September is Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Awareness Month. You can find more information, resources, and other ways to get involved in FASD prevention initiatives from organizations such as FASD United and ThinkFASD

Created by DHS, ELRC, and Trying Together, this is a platform where parents and guardians can find safe childcare, afterschool, virtual, and summer camp options based on your location and children's age. 

Created by the PPS Student Support Services Department, the Virtual Calming Room is a place for students, families, and staff to find tools and strategies for managing emotions and feelings and building our resilience during this pandemic.

BrainPOP offers a range of materials from movies on mindfulness, conflict resolution, determination, and activities like coding an anti-bullying campaign. BrainPOP provides a range of opportunities that address: Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills, and Responsible Decision-Making.

The Imagine Neighborhood is a podcast designed to grow social-emotional skills through stories, music, and activities that help kids and grown-ups talk about big feelings and solve problems together.

Mind Yeti is a library of research-based guided mindfulness sessions created by the Committee for Children that help kids and their adults calm their minds, focus their attention and connect to the world around them. 

 List of programs in Allegheny County that provides a safe place for children, youth, and/or young adults after their school day ends. Some offer programming during the summer as well. Each generally offers academic assistance to students during the school year, supplemented with enrichment activities. Contact the site nearest you for more information.
